The Southern Ohio Elite Junior Olympic Volleyball Club is a new organization designed to promote the sport of Volleyball in the southern Ohio region surrounding the Vinton and Jackson Counties. Teams are being organized for each of the following age divisions: 18u,16u, 15u, 14u, and 13u. A team for the 12u can be formed if the interest from players, and a coach for the team is available.
Few volleyball players from this area of the state are served by an existing club team primarily due to the distance to team practices. No more than three girls from any school district may play together on a team out of season. More than one team per age division may be organized if the number of girls, and adult coaches are available.
Tryouts for high school teams will be scheduled for the beginning of November, as per OHSAA guidelines. Tryouts for middle school teams will be held the last week of October. A free clinic will be held prior to the tryouts. Completed forms and the Ohio Valley Region Volleyall registration fee of $50 per player will need to be turned in at the tryouts. Notification of team placement will be given within three days of the tryouts. Practices will begin at the end of February, or early March. The teams will be attending five tournaments. All tournaments will be as close to the area as possible, cutting down on partiicpation cost. The final tournament, sponsored by Keapa, is scheduled for May 3 in Columbus, which the teams will be attending. The cost of uniforms (jersey, shorts, and socks) will be no more than $60. The tournament fees will be split among the teams evenly, and need to be paid by the second volleyball practice. Optional warm-ups, (printed hoodie and sweatpants) will be available for purchase at a cost of no more than $45. Court shoes and knee-pads are required, with players able to use their exisitng personal equipment. Knee-pads can be purchased at a team discount for any players who choose to do so. Additional information regarding the club volleyball program can be found by clicking on the Ohio Valley Region Volleyball website at: www.ovr.org

Players from outside of the Vinton and Jackson County areas who are willing to travel to the area for all practices, are welcome to tryout. A tryout spot can be reserved by emailing: taradodrill@gmail.com, or via fax to 740-596-2248.
